Sets in, progress out
A training log is a long list of sets, and everything you want to know is a question about
that list: how many sessions this week, how much volume, what’s my best squat, when did I
last deadlift. Each is a formula here. Sessions are distinct dates —
SUMPRODUCT(1 / COUNTIF(dates, dates)), so a session with twelve sets counts once — and the
best weight per exercise is SUMPRODUCT(MAX((exercise = name) × weight)), which makes MAX
see the whole column without array entry.
Pro: per exercise, per week, per body
Exercises lines them up: sets, sessions, best weight, best set, total volume, last done and
days since — yellow at two weeks, which is the honest way to notice what you’ve been
avoiding. Weekly shows the last twelve weeks with bars. Body is the weigh-in log with change
since the previous entry and since the start, green when it goes down.
Checked, not just built
The build recalculates both workbooks in LibreOffice and in a second, independent engine and
compares twenty-nine values — volumes, this week’s sessions and sets, per-exercise bests and
days since, the weekly table, body-weight changes — against numbers computed outside Excel.
